The house now has 9 skylights and a 50 year roof. The squirrels destroyed the old roof by hiding their winter supply of accorns under the old shakes and then ripping them off to get back to the accorns. We replaced all the hall lights with solar-tube skylights with built in lights and also added a 36″ whole house fan to help push the summer heat out of the house in the evening.

Matt Miklos invited me to go with him and Randy Katen to climb the north face of the Sierra Buttes. Without delay I said “heck yeah!” This trip was a lot of scambling, bouldering, and climbing. The glacier required crampons and an ice axe. It took almost 8 hours to get to the top and it was well worth it. The Sierra Buttes are stunningly beautiful, the photos hardly do it justice. Thanks Matt for your ropes expertise and loaning out your mountaineering gear. Also thanks to Heather Cramer for driving us to the start and picking us up.
