Alamere Falls
Lisa, Karen, Brian and I had an enjoyable hike to Alamere Falls located in Point Reyes National Seashore. It is one of the few waterfalls that spill directly into the ocean. The trail starts from the Palomarin Trailhead in an old eucalyptus tree grove then opens up with ocean views. We could see a large pod of whales near the ocean surface off Abalone Point. We took the unofficial trail to the falls and ate lunch at the cliff where Alamere Creek spills over the edge. After lunch, we scrambled down to the beach and were visited by a baby seal at the base of the falls. On our way back, we stopped to look at the many different flowers that were in full bloom.
