Tomales Bay State Park
Chris, Karen, Amanda, Beth, Lisa and I had a good hike in Tomales Bay State Park on the Johnstone Trail. We started at the Hearts Desire Beach Trailhead and hiked about 4 miles to Shell Beach for lunch then returned via the Johnstone Trail. We did manage to get a few glimpses of the bay through the brush, but the trail was dense and overgrown in most areas with poison oak shouldering much of the trail. This short stretch of trail traveled through several different habitats including beach, forest, meadows, and fields.
Lisa convinced us to stop at the Cowgirl Creamery in Point Reyes Station on the return trip home to sample some very good artisan cheeses. We got there a little late in the day but normally you can also watch them make the cheese.
